    No Complaints

ShareTweetPinShareWhatsApp0 SharesThis morning, God’s plan for my day was not what I was expecting. I was prepared to begin my 2nd Annual 30 Days Without Complaint Challenge with a Sunday full of fellowship and worship, excited for our new pastor, but .  .  . My day started by challenging ‘no complaints’ right away. Instead, I snuggled with a sore-‘froated’, upset-tummy-having-little-girl and got the opportunity to tackle laundry, carpet cleaning, and scrubbing the bathroom. Focusing on no complaints meant biting back discouraging words about starting my morning cleaning up vomit. I took captive the bitter thoughts seeping into my heart over a groggy barfing child, and smiled. 2 Corinthians 10:5b take…

30 Days Without Complaint 48 hours: Be a Light in the World

Share44TweetPin222ShareWhatsApp266 SharesAs I prepare to undertake this transformative challenge again this year, I am revisiting what I learned only 48 hours into 30 days without complaint the very first year – learning to be a light in the world. First, since I’ve started this challenge, I’ve found that God has continually blessed me with ample opportunities to practice. Not complaining may be a bit like praying for patience. I started taking this challenge in 2014. After considering what constitutes complaining, I decided that I wanted to eliminate all of it from my attitude, truly find contentment no matter my circumstance. Too Late

ShareTweetPinShareWhatsApp0 SharesThis will be a short post today because I have written in-depth about Saving Eliza before in my post The Last 365. When I wrote the last blog, her parents were still hopeful. They had months to raise the remaining funds and Eliza was not showing any symptoms of degeneration. They began a social media challenge (#sing2lines) in order to raise awareness and funds. If everyone reading this gave $25, we could save her life today. But today I was heartbroken anew. An article on People.com shared that she is losing words. I cannot imagine watching my child be slowly erased by a missing gene, knowing every step backward…

    The Best Medicine

ShareTweetPinShareWhatsApp0 Shares If you’ve been reading my blog entries, you may have the impression that I am very serious, which is not the whole truth. I am very serious about being Godly. I take following God’s word very seriously. I seriously want to know what God’s word says about how I should think and live and be, and I seriously want people to know about Jesus, but I LOVE to laugh, which comes in handy as a mom. God gave us the ability to laugh, to be full of joy. He even told us how to heal the wounds of a fallen world. Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine,…
